Worthy Park

Worthy Park is Jamaica's true cane-to-glass estate. Its land was granted in 1670, it runs the island's oldest and most efficient sugar factory, and it makes rum from molasses it produces itself. After falling silent in 1962, the distillery was rebuilt from scratch in 2005 and now bottles some of the most respected modern estate rum in the Caribbean.

A red sign at the gate reads Vale of Lluidas Vale, patented November 28th, 1670, the year the estate was granted to an officer from the 1655 conquest. Sugar followed in the 1720s, the first record of rum in 1741.
