Travellers is the rum that put Belize on the map. It began in 1953 as a bar in Belize City, grew into a family distillery under the Perdomo name, and today is synonymous with Belize rum. Its molasses spirit comes off a hurricane-proofed column still in three different marques, and a deep stock of aged casks has made it a quiet favourite of independent bottlers around the world.

Ein zugänglicher Rum mit Noten von Vanille, Karamell, Honig und reifen Früchten. Er wirkt weich und ausgewogen, aber auch recht dünn. Kein Rum mit Tiefe, dafür ein unkomplizierter Sipper mit fairem Preis-Genuss-Verhältnis.

Und dann doch noch einen ziemlich starken Rum im Glas heute. Bei diesem Belize darf man sich echt nicht beschweren. Hat ne leichte Süße (Karamell, Vanille und Schokolade), aber dank des hohen ABV sehr lecker.

Dieser Travellers von Romdeluxe gefällt mir gerade sehr gut. Die Nade ist frisch und grasig, Olive ist auch erkennbar. Am Gaumen auch Olive und Zitrusfrüchte. Außerdem ist er frisch, erdig und grasig. Erinnert mich an den Savanna HERR.

In 1953 Jaime Omario Perdomo Sr. opened a bar called Travellers in Belize City, then the hub of the colony, named for the international guests who passed through. He sold local rum and blended his own, but struggled to secure a consistent supply, so in the 1970s he partnered with Luis Alberto Espat to upgrade a pot-still operation to column distillation.
