Savanna sits on Réunion, a French island in the Indian Ocean, and works in a register most rum drinkers know from Jamaica: high-ester, funk-forward distillates. Its Grand Arôme and HERR lines push fermentation and ester counts to extremes, giving overripe strawberry, olive brine, pineapple and a chemical “bubble gum” edge that people either chase or find too wild. The distillery also makes agricole from cane juice and molasses-based traditionnel, so the catalogue spans light sipping rums to brutal cask-strength monsters.
