Longueteau distills on the Domaine du Marquisat de Sainte-Marie in Capesterre-Belle-Eau, on the Basse-Terre side of Guadeloupe, at the Espérance distillery the family has run since 1895. Everything starts with cane grown on the estate’s own plots — red cane, blue cane, and specific parcels numbered like vineyard crus — which makes this one of the more literal single estate rum operations in the French islands.
