Grays is the Mauritian distillery behind the widely seen New Grove and Lazy Dodo brands, plus the Grays-distilled rum that fills many independent bottlings. It works mainly from molasses on column stills, and its house character is easy to spot once you’ve had a few: yellow fruit (peach especially), tropical fruit, a green herbaceous streak, and a recurring mint or menthol note in the finish.
