Founded in Santiago de Cuba in 1862 by Facundo Bacardí Massó, the family moved production after the Cuban Revolution and now runs its largest distillery in Cataño, Puerto Rico. The house built its name on clean, light column-still rum — the style that made the daiquiri and Cuba libre what they are — and it remains the highest-selling rum on the planet.
