This Diplomatico is not nearly as sweet as the DRE so it’s an easy choice to choose it before the DRE. The spices are soft and appears during the rather short finish.

Sweet and smooth. Caramel, and a softly rounded oak that comes on in the finish. Harsher after first pour then kind of mellows out a little. Darl amber pour. The finish is medium, doesnt last too long. Bottle brought back by my brother in law.

A very good rum with a great nose of butterscotch, vanilla, maple, and dried dates. All of these notes appear in the taste with impact from the aging in wood. This rum does skew to the sweet side, but it is easily sipable. The finish is long with spice and dried fruit.

Sugar was once Venezuela's main export, until oil was found in 1922 and made it one of the richest nations on earth.
