Production leans on distillate drawn from the lower part of the Coffey column still, which gives more weight and character than a light column spirit usually would. Ageing happens in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels, typically in the nine-to-twelve-year window for the ship-named blends. Bottling is at 40%, and while a few reviewers wish for cask strength, others argue more alcohol would not integrate as cleanly.
